Joe Blanton
Joseph Matthew Blanton (born December 11, 1980) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Kansas City Royals organization. After playing for the University of Kentucky, Blanton was drafted by the Oakland Athletics and played for several Major League Baseball (MLB) teams between 2004 and 2013. While pitching for the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2008 World Series, Blanton hit a home run. He has the distinction of being the only pitcher in MLB history to do so while never having hit a single other extra base hit in his career.
