The 1939 Play Ball Baseball Card set features black-and-white photographs on the front and statistics and biographies on the back.  There are 162 cards in both the reprint and original sets.  The 1939 Play Ball baseball cards were reprinted in 1988 and have the same dimensions (2½" x 3 1/8") as the original cards.

Players featured in this set include: Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Hank Greenberg, Mel Ott, Carl Hubbell, Bill Dickey, and Lefty Gomez.

Original common cards cost approximately $55 each, while the rare Joe DiMaggio card can cost as much as $1500 in Near Mint condition. A complete original 1939 Play Ball set would cost over $10,000 in Excellent/Mint condition.
