Rick Joseph

Ricardo Emelindo Joseph Harrigan (August 24, 1939 – September 8, 1979) was a Dominican Major League Baseball infielder. He played for the Kansas City Athletics during the 1964 season and the Philadelphia Phillies from 1967 to 1970. Primarily a first baseman and third baseman, he stood 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 m) tall and weighed 192 pounds (87 kg). He threw and batted right-handed.

Joseph was the 1967 Most Valuable Player of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League, batting .300 with 24 home runs for the league champion San Diego Padres. The performance earned him a late August call-up to the Phillies.

Rick Joseph died at age 40 from diabetes.
