The 1982 Topps Baseball Card Set contains 792 cards making it the largest set to date at that point in time. The 66 card increase totally eliminated Topps “double print” practice. Subsets for the 1982 Topps set include Highlight of the 1981 season which was shortened due to a strike (1-6), League Leaders (161-168), AL All Stars (547-557), and NL All Stars (337-347). Topps also introduced 40 “Super Action” cards which are found throughout the set. The 1982 Team cards feature the photos and averages of the team’s batting and pitching leaders, with a team checklist on the back of the card. Important rookie cards for the 1982 Topps Set are # 21 Cal Ripken Jr., # 171 Chili Davis, # 213 Dave Stewart, #452 Lee Smith , # 502 Brett Butler.
