1949 Leaf Baseball Cards
The 1949 Leaf set includes 98 cards measuring 2 3/8” by 2 7/8”. The 1949 Leaf set was the first to be printed in color post-war. The lack of refinement however resulted in many color deviations and cards out of register. The 1949 Leaf is one of the hardest post war sets to complete. The set was skip numbered from 1-168 and half of the cards issued were printed in limited quantities making them harder to find. Card backs contain offers and are sometimes found with incorrect or blank backs. Some cards were printed with a 1948 copyright date on the card back, but evidence indicates that the set was not released until 1949.
