1923 E123 Curtis Ireland Candy Baseball Cards
The 1923 Curtis Ireland Candy Baseball Card Set (E123) contains 180 unnumbered cards, each measuring 3 1/4" x 2 1/16". The front of the cards feature a sepia photograph of the player with a facsimile autograph. The cards were actually printed by Willard's Chocolates, a Canadian candy company. The backs advertise a contest and reads "SAVE THIS PICTURE." At the bottom it reads "CURTIS IRELAND CANDY CORPORATION 24 South Main Street St. Louis, Missouri." The E123 Curtis Ireland Cards are identical to the V100 Willard's Chocolates except for the Willard's backs are blank.
Some of the Hall-of-Famers included in the 1923 Curtis Ireland Candy set are: Ty Cobb, Frank Home Run Baker, Johnny Evers, Rogers Hornsby, Walter Johnson, Connie Mack, Babe Ruth and Tris Speaker.
