1954 Bowman Baseball Complete Set

Year 1954
Manufacturer Bowman

EX/MT - 6

The attractiveness, affordability and availability of the 1954 Bowman 224-card set makes it very popular among collectors. The front of the card features a bright and colorful player picture, with their name in a rectangle along the bottom with a solid background. The back of the card features a red and black color scheme. Across the top is a ball and bat graphic that contains player name and card number. Below this are player facts and career stats.

Jimmy Piersall appears on both cards #66 and #210.  There is also a 1954 Bowman card #66 featuring Ted Williams.  The 1954 Williams cards are extremely rare.  Ted Williams had been flying jets in Korea.  Upon his return, Bowman was informed that Williams had signed an exclusive contract with Topps and did not have the rights to put him on a card.  Bowman quickly replaced card #66 with Jimmy Piersall.  For this reason the #66 Williams card is not considered part ot the 1954 Bowman complete set.
