1939 Play Ball 1939 Play Ball Reprint Complete Set

The 1939 Play Ball Baseball Card set features black-and-white photographs on the front and statistics and biographies on the back.  There are 161 in this set - card #126 was not issued. The 1939 Play Ball baseball cards were reprinted in 1988 and have the same dimensions (2½" x 3 1/8") as the original cards.

Players featured in this set include: Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Hank Greenberg, Mel Ott, Carl Hubbell, Bill Dickey, and Lefty Gomez.

Original common cards cost approximately $55 each, while the rare Joe DiMaggio card can cost as much as $1500 in Near Mint condition. A complete original 1939 Play Ball set would cost over $10,000 in Excellent/Mint condition.
