The 1969 Topps Baseball set contains 664 cards each featuring a color photo of the player, with the player’s name and position in a colored circle near the top of the card. The player’s team is located at the bottom of the card. The back is a pale orange and contains a fun fact about the player as well as their career stats.
The cards in this set average Very Good in condition- approximately 80% of the cards in this set grade Very Good, with 15% grading Excellent (or higher), and the remaining 5% grading Good.
Important sub-series in this set include: World Series cards (#'s 162-169), League Leaders cards (#'s 1-12), and Sporting News All Stars cards (#'s 416-435). The backs of the All Star series portray a photo of Pete Rose when put together like a puzzle. This set is the last to contain a Mickey Mantle card. In spite of his retirement during Spring Training, his card was still printed. Rookie cards for this set include Reggie Jackson, Rollie Fingers, and Greg Nettles. This set is an excellent purchase because it does not have an expensive high number series.
