1941 Uncle Sam
The 1941 Uncle Sam / Home Defense card sets is actually two subsets consisting of a total of 144 cards. The cards measure 2½" by 3-1/8" and were issued by Gum, Inc. The 1941 Uncle Sam (R157) cards #1 to #96 feature scenes from the four main branches of the US military. The 1941 Home Defense (R158) cards #97 to #144 depict the possibilities of World War II action on the US mainland. Cards #121 to #144 are short-printed, due to rationing for the war, and nearly impossible to find.
