The 1961 Baltimore Orioles won 95 games for the first time in the club's history. With great young pitching and a career best 46 HR and 146 RBI year from Jim Gentile, the Baby Birds coasted into a 3rd place finish in A.L. the expensive 1961 high number cards of : #545 Hoyt Wilhelm, #559 Jim Gentile and the All-Star cards of #566 Paul Richards and #572 Brooks Robinson - were purposely omitted from the team set.
