The 1954 Bowman Complete Master Set contains 264 cards. This is the 224 complete set, plus 40 variations. The crown jewel of the 1954 Bowman Master set is the rare #66 Ted Williams card. Ted had spent the last 2 seasons flying jets in the Korean War. Unknown to Bowman, Williams had signed an exclusive contract with Topps. When Bowman discovered this fact, they subsituted Jimmmy Piersall as card #66 - giving him 2 cards in the set.
