This 1961 Post Cereal Baseball Almost Complete Set consists of the majority of the 200 cards measuring the standard 2 1/2" b 3 1/2".  Post Cereal distributed these cards via the back panel of cereal boxes or through the mail in large perforated sheets.  Card fronts featured the player's photo and statistics, while the backs were bare gray cardboard.  The thickness of the cardboard stock used for the cereal boxes was much thicker than that of the cardboard used to produce the perforated sheets of cards.

Post produced these cards as team subsets starting with the Yankees (#1-18), followed by the White Sox (#19-34), Tigers (#35-46), Red Sox (#47-56), Indians (#57-67), Orioles (#68-80), Athletics (#81-90), and Twins (#91-100).  Milwaukee was the first in the subsequent National League roster (#101-114), followed by the Phillies (#115-124), Pirates (#125-140), Giants (#141-155), Dodgers (#156-170), Cardinals (#171-180), Reds (#181-190), and Cubs (#191-200).
