The 1957 Topps Baseball Card set was the earliest baseball card product to showcase the 2 1/2" by 3 1/2" card dimensions that are now considered standard.  This set was also the first to feature player statistics covering their entire career on the back of the card.  It was also the first time that full-color photos of the players took the place of previously-utilized colorized player images.

The front of each card is dominated by full-color player photographs and posed action shots.  The images are accompanied by the player's name, position, and team name at the bottom of the card in simple font.  With the inclusion of full-career player statistics on the back of the card, Topps still managed to incorporate other components that collectors and buyers had become accustomed to seeing on card backs.  Basic biographical information, a brief write-up, and a one-panel trivia cartoon can all be found on the back of the card.
Similar to the 1956 set, the 1957 set includes an assortment of team cards, as well as several player combo cards. The set is distributed in five separate series.  This Near Complete Set / Lot contains no duplicate cards.
