Grading Stats Info

This is a 1948 Leaf Near Complete Premier Set, contains the highest grade of each 1948 Leaf card that we have available in our million card inventory, and excludes card #8 - Satchel Paige in order to keep the cost of the set more reasonable.   This set also excludes the 3 variations for this set, for a possible total of 97 cards.

This 1948 Leaf Baseball Near Complete Set contains many of the possible 100 cards, each measuring 2 3/8" by 2 7/8" in size.  Also referred to as 1948-49 Leaf, the cards contain numbers 1 through 168, but there was not a card printed for every number.  This set ranks as one of the most difficult to post-war sets to complete because of the numerous short-printed cards.
The 1948-49 Leaf Baseball card fronts features the player set against a brightly colored background, and his name in a solid-colored box below the image.  The  card backs have a short biography and his career highlights, which was common in previous gum card issues.
