Doc Casey

James Patrick "Doc" Casey (March 15, 1870 – December 31, 1936), sometimes referred to as Jimmy Casey, was an American baseball player and manager from 1892 to 1911.

Casey played 10 seasons in Major League Baseball as a third baseman for the Washington Senators (1898–1899), Brooklyn Superbas (1899–1900, 1906–1907), Detroit Tigers (1901–1902), and Chicago Cubs (1903–1905). In his 10 years in the major leagues, Casey compiled 1,312 putouts at third base, a figure which, at the time of his retirement, ranked 10th in major league history.

Casey also played 10 seasons in the minor leagues and served as a player-manager for the Montreal Royals in 1908 and 1909. He also managed the Fort Wayne, Indiana team in 1911.
