The franchise began in Boston in 1876 as the Boston Red Stockings but became known as the Beaneaters, Doves, and Rustlers until finally changing their name to the Braves in 1912. The relocated twice: to Milwaukee in 1953 and then to Atlanta in 1966 where they remain today. The Braves won three World Series titles, one in each city: 1914 (Boston), 1957 (Milwaukee), and 1995 (Atlanta).
Braves cards from the late 1950s as well as the 1990s are particularly popular. The late 1950s crew won a second National League pennant in 1958 with Hall of Famers Hank Aaron, Warren Spahn, and Eddie Mathews, cards depicting any of which are extremely popular. The 1990s team won a total of five National League pennants (1991, 1992, 1995, 1996, & 1999) under Hall of Fame manager Bobby Cox. Popular cards from this era include those depicting Hall of Famers Greg Maddux, John Smoltz, and Chipper Jones.
