Grading Stats Explained

This 1953 Bowman Firefighters Complete Set consists of all 64 cards.  Measuring 2 1/2' x 3 3/4'' in size, the front of each 1953 Bowman Firefighter card contains a horizontal image of some type of heavy equipment, such as fire engines or fire boats, many from the distant past.  The 1953 Bowman Firefighters card backs feature fire safety tips, a description of the equipment pictured on the front of the cards, and an illustration and description of a modern or historical firefighting tool.

The 1953 Bowman Firefighters cards are considered the first of the safety trading cards, as they contained helpful Don't Play with ... tips for children.   Things that the kids were instructed not to play with included: Matches, Candles, Cigarette Lighters, Firecrackers, or Explosives.  The 1953 Bowman Firefighters cards were produced in small numbers, which can make complete sets hard to find today.
