Different Types of Complete Sets and what to expect by condition grade

Complete sets from Dean’s Cards are organized in four different ways:

1)  (In Box) which means the set has actual scans of a set's key star player(s).  Other scans shown are typically representative images of the card included with the set.

2)  (In Binder) indicates the complete set comes in a binder with 9-page binder pages.  The (In Binder) sets are available as they are acquired from personal collections.  As with (In Box) sets, actual scans are shown of a set's key star player(s), but other scans are usually representative images.

3)  (Factory Sealed) a set packaged and sealed at the manufacturer's factory which has never been opened or handled since it was printed.  These sets are sold in condition "9" MINT by Dean's Cards.  Availability of these sets vary as not every set issued was offered as a "Factory Set" directly from the manufacturer.

4)  If the set is listed with none of these designations, then the set is built virtually from our million card inventory.  The cards are individually graded, and a scan of each card is provided front and back.  These sets are usually priced higher than the sets in box and in binder due to the labor involved.

Sets are assigned an overall condition grade consistent with Dean's Cards grading guidelines.  This means there will be a natural mix throughout the set with some of the individual cards grading higher than the condition listed and some lower.  Issues such as centering and card board stock will tend to run consistent with that set's production run.

See the Dean's Cards full grading standards for more detailed information of what to expect in each condition grade.
