The 1987 Fleer update set includes 132 cards with color photos and white and light blue faded backgrounds. The players name and position are listed at the top of the photo. The card backs are red and blue and offer player information. The 1987 Fleer Update set resembles the 1987 Fleer regular set except that the update cards have a "U" in front of the card number. The set was also issued with 25 team logo stickers.

Hall-of-Famers, Stars and Notable Rookies include: Ellis Burks, Mark McGwire, Dennis Eckersley, Reggie Jackson, Fred McGriff, Matt Williams and Greg Maddux.
