The 1963 Topps Baseball set consists of 576 cards total, each measuring the standard 2 1/2" by 3 1/2".  Card fronts feature colored panels near the bottom edge of the card displaying the player's name, position, and team.  A small black and white image of the player can be found in the lower right hand corner adjacent to the player's name.  Card backs showcase extensive career and season-by-season statistics, as well as basic biographical information and an amusing cartoon or comic.

Much like Topps' previous sets, the 1963 Topps Baseball set was released over seven series with various specialty subsets.  For instance, 1962 League Leaders cards (#1-10) reference top performers from the previous year, while World Series Highlights cards (#142-148) cover the 1962 World Series between the New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants.  Rookies Stars cards are also randomly scattered throughout the set and feature a noticeably different design than the main base set.  Various manager, team, and checklist cards are also included throughout the set.
