The 1961 Topps Baseball set consists of 370 vertically-oriented cards total, each measuring 2 1/2" by 3 1/2". The card fronts include portraits of the players with the player name and team displayed in a small box near the bottom edge of the card. Continuing the simple theme, the card backs do not feature any puzzles or trivia, but instead only include the player's season-by-season and career statistics. The cartoons that kids had become accustomed to seeing were still included at the bottom of the card backs.
There are several subsets within the 1961 Topps Baseball set. League Leaders (#41-50) cover the top statistical performers across baseball. Team managers can be found in one of two separate groups (#131-139 and #219-226). World Series Highlights (#306-313) provide a recap of the previous championship series between the Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Yankees.
This Near Complete Set / Lot contains no duplicate cards.
