The 1969 Twins won the AL West with a 97-65 record, then were swept by the Orioles in three games in the AL Championship Series. Harmon Killebrew won the AL MVP and led the league with 49 home runs and 140 RBIs, Rod Carew with a .332 batting average, and Tony Oliva with 197 hits.
