This 1972 Topps Texas Rangers Near Team Set contains the majority of the 1972 Topps Rangers baseball cards and makes a great gift for any Rangers fan. The 1972 Rangers finished 6th in the AL West with a 54-100 record. It was the Rangers' first year in Texas, playing at Arlington Stadium, after eleven seasons in Washington. Since Topps did not have pictures of the players in Rangers uniforms, the 1972 Rangers all sport airbrushed caps.
