This 1961 Topps Baltimore Orioles Near Team Set features all of the affordable low number Topps cards of 1961 Orioles players. The 1961 Baltimore Orioles won 95 games for the first time in the club's history. With great young pitching and a career best 46 HR and 146 RBI year from Jim Gentile, the Baby Birds coasted into a 3rd place finish in A.L. the expensive 1961 high number cards of : #545 Hoyt Wilhelm, #559 Jim Gentile and the All-Star cards of #566 Paul Richards and #572 Brooks Robinson - were purposely omitted from the team set.
