The 1963 Salada-Junket Metal Coins set was the company's last, consisting of 63 coins total. The smaller set size was an attempt by Salada to concentrate on better-known players and subsequently boost sales. Historically, coins have not been a particularly popular sports collectible, especially when compared to the success trading cards.
Each coin in the set measures 1 1 /2" in diameter. Players from the National League can be found in the first half of the set (#1-31), while those from the American League occupy the second half (#32-63). National League players are encircled by bright red borders and American League players are encircled by blue borders. Each coin includes the player's name, position, team, and basic 1962 statistics. Some of the coins in the set use illustrations instead of photographs, using some of the artwork from the 1962 set.
