This 1935 National Chicle Football Card Near Complete Set consists of the majority of the 36 very rare cards. Card #34 of Bronko Nagurski, which many collectors compare to the T206 Honus Wagner card, is not considered as part of the standard 1935 National Chicle Football Card Set, as it can easily make up the majority of a complete set's value.
The fronts of the beautifully designed 1935 National Chicle football cards feature a colorful player image, with his full name, set in front of a unique football-inspired background. Originally intended to be 240 cards, the National Chicle Company, fell far short of their goal.
The 1935 National Chicle Football Card Set features a special card of legendary Notre Dame football coach, #9 Knute Rockne, who is the only subject in the set who was not a NFL player. This set broke ground by being the first to feature players from the National Football League, including six future Hall of Fame players. Among them are: Dutch Clark, Cliff Battles, Clark Hinkle.
