The 1953 Bowman Football Near Complete Set consists of many of the 96 cards total, making it the only set featuring fewer than 100 cards to be released by Bowman.

Card fronts featured a colorized image of the player along with their name and team listed inside a white football graphic. A white border surrounds the depiction of the player.

Card backs include a number inside a pair of goalposts, with the player's name and notable statistics running along the top edge of the card. The back of each card also includes a short biography, statistics from the previous season, and a referee call or trivia question.
