This 1948 Leaf Baseball Near Complete Set w/o Paige contains the many of the 97 cards cards in the standard set. Please see below for the exact cards that this set contains. This set excludes card #8 - Satchel Paige, as this card alone can cost as much as the remaining cards in the set. We also build a Complete Set that includes the Paige card when our inventory allows.
The 1948 Leaf cards are numbered 1 through 168, each measuring 2 3/8" by 2 7/8" in size. Each card front features a player against a brightly colored background (either solid of two-toned), with the player's name appearing in a solid-colored box below the image. The 1948-49 Leaf Baseball card backs display the player's basic biographical information and a brief synopsis of their career, a standard practice among gum cards at this time.
