This is a 1973 O-Pee-Chee Cincinnati Reds Near Team Set. This 1973 O-Pee-Chee Cincinnati Reds Team Set includes 8 cards covering the 1972 World Series versus the A's. The 1973 Reds had the best record in baseball at 99-63, but could not get past the pitching of the Mets in the N.L. Championship Series, losing in 5 games.
Dean's Cards has designed our Near Complete Team Sets using the majority of cards for that team - leaving out the expensive super-star rookie cards, high numbers, short-prints, and multi-player rookie cards, reducing the price. the other cards can then be added, from our inventory of over a million cards, as your budget allows. In order to keep the price of this 1973 O-Pee-Chee Cincinnati Reds Near Complete Team Set more affordable, the following card is not included in the set: #554 Dave Concepcion. This 1973 O-Pee-Chee Team Set has all of the standard cards. the cards not included are expensive multi-team rookie cards, that were left out of the team set to keep the cost down. the 1973 O-Pee-Chee was the first set to feature all of multi-player rookie cards by position, instead of by their respective teams. To make a bad idea even worse, O-Pee-Chee waited until 7th Series to issue this cards, making them expensive, as well as undesired. As a result, the 1973 O-Pee-Chee multi-player rookie cards are not considered part of 1973 O-Pee-Chee Team Sets. We feel that they do not offer enough value to team sets to offset the additional expense. If you dis-agree, the 1973 multi-team rookie cards can be purchased individually on our site.
