1934 Diamond Stars Almost Complete Set w/o High Numbers

This is a 1934-36 Diamond Starts Almost Complete Set w/o High Numbers, that contains the majority of the cards all #1 to #96, which is considered a complete set for this issue.  

This set excludes the last 12 cards in the set, in order to keep the cost of the set more reasonable.  These cards, which are  #99 to #108, were issued 1936 and are identical to earlier cards in the set, except that the print of the card backs is blue, instead of green.

The Diamond Stars Baseball Card Set was produced by National Chicle.  The Diamond Stars cards are 2 3/8" by 2 7/8" in size and were issued continuously from 1934 to 1936, which created numerous variations.  While the Diamond Stars Set has 108 different players featured on cards, the master set contains 170 cards.  The variations have the same card front, but the backs differ slightly.  Either by updated statistics and or a different color of print.

The card fronts feature color representations of photographs against art deco backdrops. 1934-36 Diamond Stars card backs include either a player bio or playing tips.  Cards can also be found with blue or green lettering on the back.
