1908-09 Rose Company Postcards
The 1908-1909 Rose Company Postcards set is one of the most desired pre-war postcard sets in existence, due to its striking design and its exceptional rarity. There are 216 known cards in the 1908-1909 Rose Company Postcards set and several variations, as the Rose Company allowed other businesses to advertise using their design. The most recognizable subset is the advertisements for Greenfield's Delatour Chocolates, which include their logo on the backs. The 1908-1909 Rose Company Postcards set is un-numbered, but listed in alphabetical order. The cards measure 3 1/2" by 5 1/2".
This set contains cards for both major and minor league players of the time. Each card in this set is rare, but key cards of Hall-of-Famers such as Mordecai Brown (#21), Ty Cobb (#34), and Honus Wagner (#192) are both especially rare and valuable.
