1963 Fleer Baseball

The 1963 Fleer Baseball Card Set consists of 66 cards, plus an unnumbered checklist. The 1963 Fleer Baseball Cards are 2½" by 3½" in size and were limited to just one series. Cards #1 to #66 were produced during the first print. During the second printing, the checklist was substituted for the #46 Joe Adcock card on the print sheet, making both cards short-prints.
The set was an attempt by Fleer to break into the baseball card market and came with a cookie in each pack, instead of bubble gum. Fleer used very little sugar, in order not to violate Topps exclusive right to issue cards with confections, and the result was a tasteless cookie. Topps resorted to quick legal action and Fleer pulled the set after the first series.
