1951 Topps Ringside Boxing Cards
The 1951 Topps Ringside Boxing Card Set contains 96 cards, each measuring 2 1/16" by 2 15/16". The cards are sometimes seen in connected, perforated pairs.
Considered the premier of all boxing sets, the 1951 Ringside cards were issued in two 48 card series - with the 2nd series being a more difficult to find. The second series features four short-prints: #55 Bob Fitzsimmons, #61 Pete Mead, #89 Carlos Chavez, #49 Bob Murphy - which is considered the toughest to find.
The 1951 Topps Ringside Set includes 4 cards that show two boxers fighting and 5 cards that feature wrestlers. The jewel of the 1951 Topps Ringside Boxing Set is #32 Rocky Marciano, the only contemporary card of him produced.
