1956 Topps Baseball Cards

The beautiful 1956 Topps Baseball Card Set includes 340 horizontally oriented cards with a big picture of the player's face and an action shot in the background. The last baseball card set issued in the larger vintage size of 3¾" by 2 5/8", the 1956 Topps set was the first to feature the two league presidents and team cards.
Cards #1 through #180 were printed on both white and gray cardboard stock. While cards #1 to #100 were made in fairly equal numbers, the 1956 Topps "White Back" cards are harder to find for cards #101 to #180, especially in the higher grades, and sell for a premium For this reason, we have listed only these 80 cards as variations. Beginning with card #181, the 1956 Topps are only available with Gray Backs.
The 1956 Topps set remains a great value for the money, partly because it had only one rookie card of a future Hall-of-Famer: #292 Luis Aparicio.
