The 1911-14 General Baking Co. (D304) Baseball Card Set
contains 25 unnumbered cards, measures 1 ¾” by 2 ½”, and was distributed with
five different backs: Brunners Bread,
Butter Krust Bread, General Baking Company, Martens Bakery, and Weber Bakery.
The D304 cards are very popular with
collectors because its unique pictures on the cards and also because of 11 Hall of Famers in the set, such as Ty Cobb, Nap Lajoie, Christy Mathewson, Honus
Wagner & Cy Young. The D304 General Baking Set was distributed by bakeries in the Buffalo area, making the cards very scarce and expensive today. The high cost of the D304 cards forces most of us to content ourselves with owning the D304 reprint set.
