1969 Topps Super

The 1969 Topps Super Baseball Cards were issued as a test set in the New York area and distributed in limited numbers. The name comes from the "Super" colorful high gloss photos on the card fronts. The 1969 Topps Super Set contains 66 cards, which measure 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" and have rounded corners.

The 1969 Topps Super Set was a smaller predecessor to the 1970 & 1971 Topps Super cards, which were issued as both baseball and football cards. The key card in the set is #24 Mickey Mantle. There is a nearly identical reprint set issued, that uses a dark blue ink on the card backs, when compared to light blue print used on the 1969 Topps Super originals.
