1953 Firefighters
The 1953 Firefighters Card Set consists of 64 standard sized cards, each measuring 2 1/2' x 3 3/4''. The fronts of the 1953 Bowman Firefighter cards contain images of fire engines, fire boats, and other firefighting machines - many from the past. The card backs feature fire safety tips, description of the equipment pictured on the front of the cards, and an illustration and description of a modern or historical firefighting tool.
The 1953 Bowman Firefighters cards are considered the first ever of the "safety" trading cards. They were produced in small numbers, which can make complete sets challenging to find today. The 1953 Bowman Firefighters cards are a fun historical snapshot at firefighting equipment from the first half of the 20th Century.
