The 1908 Dietsche Detroit Tigers Postcards Set contains 20 black and white cards measuring 3 1/2" by 5 1/2". These postcards were part of a three year series, and is widely thought to be the first example of baseball postcards. These postcards are unique in that the back of the cards featured a short biography of the player.
These postcards are very similar to the 1907 Dietsche Detroit Tigers Postcards, but can be distinguished in two different ways. While this is not true with all postcards of this year, many of them feature the player's name in addition to their photograph on the front of the card. The easiest way to tell postcards from this year apart though is by looking at the copyright date on the back.
