1966 Topps Football Cards

The 1966 Topps Football Card Set includes 132 standard size cards, which measure 2½" by 3½". The cards resemble a vintage TV set inside a "wood grained" cabinet. These dark brown borders tend to show every nick, making the 1966 Topps football cards much more condition sensitive than cards with the standard white borders. The key rookie cards from this 1966 Topps Football Card Set are #34 Wendell Hayes and #75 Otis Taylor.
The 1966 Topps football cards feature AFL players organized by team and then alphabetically. While the horizontal orientation of the 1966 Topps cards makes for some unique poses, the set is still very collectible.
The major drawback of the 1966 Topps football set is that the set's 3 checklist cards, which typically make up about 1/3 of the cost of the set! For this reason, many collectors simply ignore the #61 & #132 checklists, and the ridiculous #15 Funny Rings checklist card, and enjoy the other 129 cards of AFL players.
