Pre-War Baseball Card Guide
| In the early part of the 20th century, newspapers and magazines were a vital source of information for sports fans. Many of those newspapers and periodicals printed supplemental cards, cabinets, premium cards, or even posters that featured either the entire league or just local teams. The Sporting News, considered one of the best sources for all baseball news and scores, printed numerous supplements that ranged from large-sized cabinets of individual players to team photos. Many other newspapers printed cards of local players. One of the most expensive M-card sets in the 1914 Baltimore News set, which includes the Terrapins from the Federal League and the Orioles from the International League. |
