1939-46 Exhibit Salutations Baseball Cards
This unique 65-card series features a player photograph. These Exhibit Salutations contain a personal greeting such as "Sincerely Yours" or "Best Wishes", along with the players name. These large-size cards measure 3 3/8" by 5 3/8" and have blank backs.
The Exhibit Salutation Baseball Cards were sold in vending machines, from 1939 to 1946. Being one of the few baseball card sets produced during World War II, the Salutation Exhibits feature some of the war time players, who filled in for the stars who were serving in the armed forces. Once baseball's stars returned home, players such as Harlond Clift and Joe Kuhel were soon out of the game.
