1910-11 M116 Sporting Life Baseball Cards
The 1910-11 M116 Sporting Life baseball card set consists of at least 275 cards that measure 1½" by 2¾". The M116 baseball cards have three possible back types that appear in different series. The cards are unnumbered and organized alphabetically. The 1910 Sporting Life set was offered to collector's by Sporting Life, a newspaper and competitor of the Sporting News.
There are several instances of variations within the set, mostly regarding different background colors. For several players, some cards can be found with a blue background and others with a pastel background. The blue background variations tend to be more valuable (most likely due to scarcity).
There are a lot of key Hall-of-Famers included in M116: Home Run Baker, Chief Bender, Roger Bresnahan, Mordecai Brown, Frank Chance, Ty Cobb, Eddie Collins, Sam Crawford, Johnny Evers, Walter Johnson, Connie Mack, Christy Mathewson, John McGraw, Eddie Plank, Tris Speaker, Joe Tinker, Honus Wagner and Cy Young.
