1971 O-Pee-Chee Baseball Cards
The 1971 O-Pee-Chee Baseball Card Set consists of 752 cards, each measuring 2 ½” by 3 ½”. The cards are similar to the 1971 Topps cards, but say “Printed in Canada” on the back. The backs of the 1971 OPC baseball cards are yellow, with the player info in both French and English, up until card #523. Cards numbered 524 to 752 were printed in English only. The 1971 OPC set also swapped out cards #202 and #289 and added players from the Montreal Expos.
Just like it's American cousin, the 1971 O-Pee-Chee high number series begins with card # 644 and also contains the same hard-to-find Short Prints. Due to the poor quality of the paper stock used to make the OPC cards, as well as the many rough-cut edges, the grading standards on the 1971 OPC baseball cards is much more liberal on these two issues than they are on the Topps cards.
